Walkers are Welcome
Walkers Are Welcome is a national initiative and we are proud that Marsden is an accredited WaW town.
Walkers Are Welcome towns and villages are places that have something special to offer walkers. There are almost 100 Walkers are Welcome towns and villages across Britain.
Marsden WaW is volunteer-run and we are often out surveying paths, clearing paths and when we can, leading walks.
Marsden WaW Walks
Marsden WAW has seven waymarked walking routes (New for 2021 – Mesolithic March Hill) with accompanying leaflets – accounting for approx 25 miles of path and track.
Leaflets are available in many shops, pubs and the library – both in Marsden and further afield.
All the walk details are available online with downloads – GPS data files, PDF route files, full web page – to suit different needs.
New Walk Launched!
We’ve spent our allotted exercise time in lockdown developing a brand new walk.
Mesolithic March Hill takes you to one of the highest points around, with great views back down the Colne Valley.
Archaeologists have found evidence of Mesolithic humans hunting and camping on the summit of March Hill.
