Guided walk along the 'Mesolithic March Hill' trail - Sun 1st Aug 2021
4th Jul '21
A DATE FOR YOUR DIARIES! Sunday 1st August from 12 noon: a guided walk along the ‘Mesolithic March Hill’ trail.
Archaeologists have found evidence of Mesolithic (middle stone age) people hunting, knapping / creating tools with flint and camping on the summit of March Hill.
EXPERT ONBOARD: We are really pleased to say that we’ll be joined by Dr Paul Preston. Paul has led research work and written about the Mesolithic camps on March Hill. Paul will join the walk and also give a short talk and answer questions.
We’re doing this as part of the Yorkshire Day (weekend) being hosted by Marsden Mechanics / Friends of Marsden Library.
Food will be available after the walk and walk numbers will be limited so there’s a booking system in place: all details will be on the Mechanics website soon (http://www.marsdenmechanics.co.uk/events).
So it’s a bit like Glastonbury (but without the mud, we hope), you’ll need to keep an eye on the Mechanics website to get a ticket when they go live.
We can’t reserve tickets via this FB page, please book via the Marsden Mechanics website.
