WHAT’S HAPPENING:

A weekend of walks, talks, stalls, film and food.

The day starts at 9.00am but stalls are from 10.30 and the first walks also leave at 10.30am.

9.00 – 10.00: YOGA FOR WALKERS Taster session at Sass Wellbeing Studio (on Peel St)

• From 9am: The Info desk opens in the Mechanics foyer 10am – 4pm: The CURLEW KITCHEN is open!
Drinks and snacks upstairs in the Mechanics main hall, run by Marsden Scouts.

10am – 4 pm: Outdoor and Makers Fair stalls open to all!
In the Mechanics main hall.
• Three great outdoors organisations – EPIKS e-Bikes, Experience Community (helping disabled people access the outdoors) & the National Trust team will be outside on the cobbles with info / kit demos from 10am.

10.30am – 11.45am: HISTORY WALK departs from Mechanics Foyer.
Walk Lead: Roger Logue – 75 mins. A walk around the village, all paved.

10.30am – 12.30pm:
CAT HOLES WALKS departs from Mechanics Foyer
Walk Lead: Roger Abbott.
c. 2.5 miles / 90 mins. A mix of woodland and towpath walking

11am – 4pm:
LONGER WOODLAND AND MOORLAND WALK departs.
A new longer trail from us: leaves from Mechanics Foyer
Walk Lead: Jo Stead. C. 10-mile / 5 hour – this is a walk to the north of the village and into West Slawit.

1.30pm – 5pm:
MARCH HILL WALK departs from Mechanics Foyer.
Walk Lead: Roger Abbott. C. 6.5 miles / 3.5 hours. Moorland with some great views.

• 3pm – 4pm: Stalls finish
• 4pm:
- Bottle Bar set up in foyer for the Talks.
- Read (great bookshop in Holmfirth) will sell books in the Mechanics foyer in the afternoon.

4.30- 5.15pm TALK 1: “STANZA STONES
in the Library. An illustrated account of ‘how the poetry trail was planned and implemented’ by Tom Lonsdale.
No ticket is required at this talk.

5.30 – 7.00 pm TALK 2:“BOTHY TALES” John D Burns in the Library.
This is a ticketed talk by author John D Burns.

• From 6pm: the Main Hall closed – to be set up for the evening film
• 7.15 pm: KATIE’S KITCHEN AT THE MECHANICS is open!
Katie’s Kitchen will be taking food orders for service during the Film interval.
Serving a selection of pies, plus peas.

7.15 pm Bar open and doors open for the evening Film in the Main Hall.
EVENING FILM: Evie.
This is a ticketed event.

Note: all of the WALKS ARE FREE, just turn up!

But we are encouraging donations in the bucket, to join the walks: we are volunteer-run and have no funding other than what we can raise ourselves.
